I think Elfen Lied had a lot more gory scenes especially with Kaede/Nyuu/Lucy's dog then with so many other parts with the passings..I think Higurashi is still very scary/gory etc..but some parts in the anime can be funny especially Rena-chan's obsession with taking anything cute home!XD
