Why is it when non-American countries get an anime, they use the 4kids version and not the Japanese?

Now, some countries are known to dub 아니메 really good (and they do it uncut as well). However, when they use an 아니메 that's dubbed 의해 4kids, they use that version, which in my opinion, is an unwise choice. Sonic X, One Piece (though Funimation is now in charge of dubbing), and even Tokyo Mew Mew, all those 아니메 that were heavily edited were broadcast outside America. Even Latin America uses those versions (and after how well 당신 dubbed Dragon Ball Z, too!). My stance on all of this is this: at least give the 4kids property some uncut goodness! (And let's make sure that better dubs are produced, too!)
