My mom calls it "Japanese Cartoons" and my dad calls it "Cartoons". 아니메 is pretty much Japanese 만화 and cartoons, just with a different name. So I'm not the least bit bothered 의해 it.

No my parents I don't recall them ever saying it. But some jeark at school. he saw me wearing an 아니메 T-Shirt. he said 당신 still like 만화 your still a baby. I told him 아니메 is not a cartoon according to what the Japanese people say. he made fun of me and embarresed me in class. He said I would never like 만화 there for babys. The 다음 일 he came into class with a Sesame 거리 T-shirt on. I said I thought 당신 did not like 만화 said they were for babsy. he got mad at me. I told him Your wearing a Sesame 거리 셔츠 that's a cartoon. he got mad at me. I said iof 당신 wanna learn your Abcs count to 123 and learn how to tie your shoes again. Than wear a cartoon PBS Kids baby t-shirt. I like 아니메 not baby 만화 like you. If 당신 don't like 만화 than don't wear Sesame 거리 cartoon shirt. I embarrassed him in class and got back at some guy boy in school class and embarrassed him. he wanted to fight me but I didn't cause I was not about to get into trouble at school.

My mom is always mixing up anime, manga, cartoons, and vocaloids. I got a DVD in the mail from netflix, it was an 아니메 I ordered so when my mom went to give it to me she said "one of your 보컬로이드 came". Since she's obviously not into it 또는 anything, and she really doesn't care that I am, I've basically just given up on really trying to correct her. In the end I know she doesn't mean any harm 의해 it and it really doesn't matter.

My mom likes 아니메 quite much. As for my stepdad he sometimes calls 아니메 a "cartoon" which does upset me a little bit but for the most part I just ignored it

LOL whenever I watch 아니메 and my mum sees, she doesn't call it 아니메 또는 cartoons, she asks if I'm watching Naruto.

아니메 is just japanese 만화 and I don't see the reason why people so mad about 아니메 being a cartoon it's so stupid when people get angry over this stuff really(my opinion through) and who cares if 당신 watch it just because 아니메 is a cartoon doesn't mean 당신 have to stop watching it 또는 get mad over something so stupid because 만화 also teach life lessons as well, 아니메 isn't the only cartoon that does this there are a lot of 만화 that do the same thing as 아니메 does, 아니메 isn't different at all really it's just a another style of cartoon really but it's doesn't bother me because people at me about what 아니메 is I say japanese cartoon because that's just the way it is really though 아니메 isn't any different from 만화 and don't listen to people when they say 당신 cant watch it just because it is a cartoon.

Yes, they have in the past... and at first, it did annoy me quite a bit... until I realized 아니메 technically is a form of 만화 (whether we all like to admit it, 또는 not).
I notice a lot of 아니메 팬 dismiss people (who call 아니메 cartoons) as ignorant, but ironically, the 아니메 팬 themselves are the ones being ignorant.
One might argue, "anime can't be 만화 because it's not exclusively for children!"
That statement is untrue, because 만화 aren't exclusively for children, either. They can range greatly in demographics, just like anime.
Another might argue, "anime can't be 만화 because it's not stylized in a western fashion!"
This is also untrue because 만화 aren't exclusive to styles from western countries. As a long as a show is drawn 또는 animated, it can be considered a cartoon (regardless of its style 또는 origin).
Even though it annoys me when 팬 claim 아니메 is not a form of cartoons, I somewhat sympathize with them. 아니메 has evolved into such a unique form of animation, that it's not hard to understand why one would want to separate the two.
아니메 is like a branch (of the 나무, 트리 that is cartoons) although, it's not just any branch. It has evolved into such an in depth, complex branch that 당신 almost want to consider it a separate tree.
Anyway, the way I see it is like this... if people want to call Japanese 애니메이션 "anime", and non-Japanese 애니메이션 "cartoons", that's fine (in fact, I find myself calling the two 의해 separate names, as well).
BUT... they need to be aware of the inevitable truth that 아니메 is indeed a form of cartoons.

Kind of :P but mostly i just ignore it,after all its basically "Japanese Cartoons"...although my mom sometimes calls it with its name (anime) and sometimes says cartoons,but for some reason i feel all flustered when she says that to my face after discovering me watching...well,i guess that's a natural instinct since i'm mostly known over here for being "Serious Mc Serious"...but anyway,yeah...i ignore and she eventually leaves me alone...oh,and i don't recall my dad ever calling them either because he's mostly at work,only going 집 on weekends.

Well, I'm one of the people who don't get it why are there so many 아니메 팬 who gets so furious when someone calls 아니메 a "cartoon" because like what other people have stated above, 아니메 is another form of cartoon and the fact that 아니메 is the short word for "animation" and that most Japanese people call everything that is animated as "anime" which that includes western 만화 too, so 당신 need to understand that Japanese people are different people and use the word "anime" to refer about 애니메이션 in general while the rest of the world only refer the ones that were made in Japan, but I don't care if 당신 disagree with me as long 당신 can handle and accept my opinion on this "anime is not a cartoon" 토론 back which I found it to be dumb and ridiculous in my opinion and view, but I can handle your opinion back even if 당신 disagree with me as I know that each people have different opinions, views and beliefs about something that they like, so I'm fine with that.
