Serial Experiments Lain Texhnolyze Haibane Renmei (picture) All of them were made 의해 (mostly) the same people, all of them are absolutely amazing anime, and all of them are so horribly underrated. Probably because there aren't very many 아니메 팬 who are willing to not only process the complicated plots, but also appreciate the immense intellectual value behind all of them.

SE:L was actually pretty 인기 over in 일본 for a while but I agree. All three are wonderfully executed philosophical stories with such deep meanings.
I know, SEL used to be popular, since it's actually a pretty old anime. but after all the 'mainstream' 아니메 took over, it sort of faded, and I don't see alot of 팬 anymore. but you're right, it's probably the least underrated of the three.
Detective Academy Q. It never got a dub licence and is virtually unheard of in the US, as far as I'm aware. It's kinda sad; DAQ is actually a really great mystery 아니메 with surprisingly likable characters.
