Soul and Maka are my faves. I just 사랑 their relationship its a mix of friendship and partnership. I 사랑 how even though they argue....A LOT, how they stick together and have eachothers backs no matter what. I also 사랑 how they'll risk their own lives for one another and also their teammates: Black 별, 스타 and Tsubaki, and Kid, Liz, and Patty. Maka and Soul are without a doubt the best 히어로즈 ever......in my mind
My two favorites are actually Vash the Stampede (Trigun) and Lelouch vi Britannia (Code Geass; Anti-hero 또는 not he was still the protagonist) but I will go with Lucy / Nyū / Kaede from Elfen Lied here.
His character development is pretty much the best I have witnessed during my time as an 아니메 fan. I also 사랑 the way that, in how his actions are executed throughout the series, his character had me reflecting on the true nature of humanity and the state of our world, mainly in a metaphorical sense. This is why I have come to 사랑 아니메 anti-heroes. "Altruism" is an attribute hidden behind the metaphorical mask of his character, but granted, he truly did care about people and his sacrifice to bring about peace was beyond selfless.

나루토 Uzumaki. <3 I 사랑 his determination to go after his dream and how he's able to prove the people who doubted him wrong. That, and even when things get hard, he still keeps smiling. And I 사랑 watching how far he's come. He's my 가장 좋아하는 아니메 character in general. I just adore him.

Now I have to say I can see there are those who basically can't stand him
Uh....that's nice for you. Yeah, he can be dense sometimes, but he's proven himself to be really clever at times, especially in combat. In my opinion, yeah, he can be a little dumb at times, but he's not as dumb as most people say. At least, to me.
At first, I immediately thought "EDWARD ELRIC", but now that I think about it, I think Monkey D. Luffy. He's amazing and he taught me a lot of things that made me a better person/friend, if that makes sense. No? Otaii. But for real doh MONKEY D. LUFFY!
