나루토 is my favourite anime. I wish there wasn't so much hatred towards it... I don't understand where it all comes from. Is it just because it's popular? I agree that the majority of 인기 things (especially when it comes to music) don't deserve their popularity, but not in the case of Naruto. I have never had the pleasure of watching 또는 읽기 something with 더 많이 rich and endearing characters than 나루토 and the plot and setting are excellent too, in my opinion. There's a depth to the 나루토 world that's almost Tolkien-like. I don't think it is overrated at all. If anything, it is perhaps underrated, considering how much hatred there is out there towards it.
People complain about it being 'too long' and saying 'the 망가 writer doesn't know when to stop'. If an 아니메 series (or any kind of series for that matter) is good, it should continue until the writer runs out of ideas. Kishimoto clearly hasn't run out of ideas yet and is not 'milking' anything. The plot is just as awesome as it ever was and gets thicker and thicker. When 당신 come to the end of an excellent anime, 당신 really miss it. A lot of 아니메 (such as Blue Exorcist) are great, but feel far too short and some of these don't reach their potential because of the limited amount of episodes they have. Their endings feel abrupt and leave a lot of viewers (well me, anyway) feeling unsatisfied... but 나루토 doesn't have this problem.
Another thing people say about 나루토 is that it's 'unrealistic' because 'Naruto's ideals wouldn't work in real life' and blah, blah, blah. If 당신 want something realistic, why not get out there and live life? I thought the idea of fiction was to ESCAPE reality. Besides, how can 당신 bash Naruto/Naruto Shippuden for encouraging people to forgive others and never give up? It's not as though it does it in a puke-inducing-children's-show type way.

I wish everyone would stop fighting over which 아니메 is better. Both of them have their strong points, and both are worth watching! I wish people wouldn't just watch one of them and not watch the other one just because someone told them that it sucks. I guess I'll break it down here.
FMA 2003: Yes, it's different from the manga. But it's still able to stand on it's own as it's own story. And it's still interesting. If 당신 like dark themes, then definitely watch this one. It's also really emotional and gives 더 많이 attention to characters that didn't get as much attention before. And it's funny too! It's definitely worth the watch.
FMA Brotherhood: This is the one that is 더 많이 humor based. But it has an awesome story too! It's not AS dark as the original 2003 anime, but it definitely has it's dark moments in there, and there some characters have some really good backstory, and can get really emotional as well. It's a really fun anime, and is worth the watch as well.
I myself prefer the 2003 anime, but that doesn't mean I don't like Brotherhood! I've had my ups and downs on my opinion of Brotherhood, but 사무용 겉옷, 전반적인 it's a very good show and deserves the attention it gets. Both are great shows and people should stop attacking each other over which one is better.

Wow, that's useful information! I'm going to add Brotherhood to my to-watch list; I just assumed it would be like watching the same 아니메 twice, which is why I didn't bother, but now I can see that's not the case. :)
I don't think I need to explain why this is something to rant about. I'll just say a few things about it in a calm, subtle and orderly fashion...
WHAT THE 퍼지 IS WITH ALL THOSE POWER-UPS? LIKE WHERE DO THEY EVEN COME FROM?! IMAGINE IF 당신 SUDDENLY FAVED THE ANTAGONIST DUE TO BACKSTORY 또는 SOME SORT OF EPIC STUFF THEN THE MAIN PROTAGONIST SUDDENLY GETS A POWER-UP FROM NOWHERE TO BEAT THEM?! WHAT THE FUDGE! IT'S LIKE 당신 CAN PASS A FINAL TERM EXAM JUST 의해 BELIEVING IN YOUR 프렌즈 AND OTHER BS STUFF! IF AND I SAY IIIFFF THE PROTAG DOESN'T GET A POWER-UP THEN THE ANTAG WOULD MOST LIKELY BE NERFED UP SO MUCH IT HURTS! SERIOUSLY WHY EVEN MAKE AN AWESOME ANTAGONIST WHO IS OBVIOUSLY GONNA BE THE 팬 FAVE SO EPIC IF 당신 WOULD JUST HUMILIATINGLY MAKE THEM LOSE AT THE END!?!?!?! AT LEAST IF YOU'RE GONNA MAKE THEM LOSE, MAKE A VERY VALID AND LOGICAL EXPLANATION OF IT AND NOT JUST DUE TO EMOTIONS THAT ONLY SERVE TO BOOST YOUR DESIRE TO WIN!!!!!!!
