Since I'm a heterosexual girl, I THOUGHT I would like 야오이 but it turns out it's just not what I'm into. I don't mind either at all, though. I sometimes even like them; I can see how yaoi/yuri can be hot 또는 cute, but it depends to me.
(I do like shounen ai and shoujo ai sometimes, because it's cute. x3)

당신 don't have to be straight to like Yuri 또는 Yaoi. Pairing shouldn't have to be hot 또는 cute to like them, it's not freakin eye candy. A pairing is for the pairing. I could careless about how it looks 또는 who is in it.
^ I never said 당신 have to be straight to like it. I meant that I thought I'd like 야오이 because I thought I was the type who WOULD be into it, for the typical fangirl reason. It turns out I'm NOT in it for "eye candy", but many other people are. Didn't say everyone is like that though.
I even think it's strange that it needs it's own genre. Why can't some of them be seen as normal couples instead of "Yaoi/Yuri"? Yaoi/yuri were originally meant for people's gratification anyway, sadly people who might fetishize homosexuality. It's good that 당신 care about the actual pairings, but it might as well not be called "yaoi" and just be called a pairing instead.
I believe there is a time and place for it. I've never gotten into Yuri. I do personally read quite a bit of 야오이 망가 but it's suppose to be exactly that. I do get a bit irritated with what I feel is an obsession of some 팬 to put any two male characters together even if they have even the slightest contact with each other 또는 blatantly hate each other's guts. Especially if I like the characters (Or 더 많이 often like one and hate the other).
Being a girl, I am 더 많이 interested in Yaoi, but not like, hard-core and stuff like that. I'd like to say though, that i HATE Shounen-Ai, so never get those 2 confused. Yuri is like, "meh", to me, but once again, I am a girl.

Don't say 'because i'm a girl' because that is not a reason 또는 excuss to drool over homosexual relationships. -_-
야오이 and Yuri? I'm not a 팬 of. Because I completely hate the fandoms for it and don't even want to be seen in the same group as them. 야오이 fangirls only care about their OVAs and hardcore stuff and doujinshi. Then go on about how 'gross' Yuri is. Yuri 팬 are the same way.
I am a Shounen-Ai and Shoujo-Ai fan, because those focus 더 많이 on the actual relationships and not the sexual parts.
But to me, it doesn't matter. A pairing is a pairing, 사랑 is love. I don't 사랑 Shouen-ai, Shoujo-ai, 또는 Hetero pairings 더 많이 then the other. I 사랑 certain pairings 더 많이 then the other, because I 사랑 their relationships more.
So my thoughts, course I 사랑 them. You'd be the biggest hypocrite every to say 당신 are for Gay Rights, then go 'ewww' over one of them. Also highly insulting to 사랑 one and call the other 'gross'.
So 사랑 is 사랑 for me, I ship 의해 relationships and chemistry. Not for looks 또는 for who is in the pairing.
I've actually only seen one Yuri 아니메 and I haven't watched any yaoi. I haven't seen any shounen ai 또는 shoujo ai either. So I can't really say whether I like them 또는 not.I don't really like when people ship two characters who have nothing between them, just because they are "hot" together. Although, the same goes for hetero pairings. I do kind of want to see 더 많이 to broaden my horizons and be a better judge of the genres though.
since i'm on a cell phone and have answered this 질문 plenty of times, i'll try to be brief. as for yuri, i both 사랑 it and am annoyed 의해 it. it depends on my mood i guess 또는 how i feel about the character. if i 'seek' it, i'll probably enjoy it. if i'm not 또는 an not expecting it, it's likely to annoy me. i don't watch a whole lot, but i do sometimes consider it a special 'treat', perhaps to watch after a particularly stressful day. overall, i would call myself a yuri fan. as for yaoi, i understand if female 팬 would like it, and am relieved if they do if it makes me seem a little less like a pervert for enjoying an occasional bit of ecchi.

i feel the need to clarify that I'm using the modern industry meaning of Yuri and 야오이 in this post, which is identical to Shoujo-Ai and Shounen-Ai.
