.hack//sign is a lot like it from what I have seen. Not so much .hack//Legend of the Twilight, that one is 더 많이 childish, still worth watching, but 더 많이 a shoujo than action.

If your looking for supernatural/bloody anime's I would recommend tokyo ghoul (season 2 comes out January), highschool DxD (don't watch if 당신 don't want a really perverted main character), mirai nikki, shakugan no shana, corpse party (an OVA series), strike the blood (highly recommended). Another 아니메 that Is kinda a mix between the two categories is the world only god knows. Also I highly recommend shingeki no kyojin, guilty crown, and aldnoah zero. (Kinda funny I picked those since the ost's from those are all 의해 the same guy). Another 아니메 to be on the look out for is owari no seraph. The 망가 is amazing and the 아니메 is in production.
