What do 당신 think 'Otaku' is?

oku's actual definition is a loser that never leav es the house basically. so when people say that i cant help but laugh :)

im sure that not what they mean to call themselves, but thats when i think when i hear otaku

For me, the defination of a otaku is a really obessed 아니메 fan. 아니메 팬 call themselves otaku but its only outside japan, the thing is that a otaku in 일본 is a nerd, a geek. But in the western side is 더 많이 like calling 당신 a big 아니메 fan. But the real
otaku is a,person who had devoured his 또는
her life for 망가 and anime. That person
is probably unsocial, know almost EVERYTHING about 망가 and anime, doesnt even eat 음식 또는 going to the toilet unless they really need it, and stuff like that. But if 당신 like 망가 and 아니메 but still life,your normal life, youre a 아니메 fan. ^^

Before I used to treat the word "Otaku" lightly, yes, I admit it.
But now for me, it means: Someone who's life completely revolves around 아니메 and manga. 당신 don't have a life outside it.

I think it's somebody that stays at 집 the whole 일 읽기 망가 and watching anime. Obsessive fan, yeah. It's usually referring to guys I think. They try to avoid contact with females because of low self-esteem, and instead collect figurines of female 아니메 characters.

Otaku:

I think the defintion of otaku isn't something worth trying to figure out. Each person defines it for themselves, so if someone comes up to 당신 and says "I'm an otaku", all 당신 have to know is that their definition of it might be something different than yours. I don't really care if people use it seriously 또는 not.

In English it is often used to describe a person who likes anything that has a strong cultural link to Japan, anime, manga, video games, and even import cars can be linked to 일본 and a person who likes these things can be described as an otaku using the English definition.

In Japanese the term does not have a real exact matching term, the closest one would have to be 'nerd' The term describes someone so obsessed that they do not associate themselves with anything else, such people are looked down upon in Japanese society and some killings have been associated with that alone.
