yeah it is backwards PETA does the crazy ass stuff where you can't eat anything from animals. (Which in my opinion is really stupid, but hey there's one in every crowd right?)

^^^ Yeah PETA tries to get everyone to be vegetarian/vegan... Aspca is basically just an animal shelter. I love both <3

the problem i have with peta is while they help some animals they also kill most dogs in their shelters so they are hypocrits but i like using there undercover videos.

There are 2 PETAs (sort of): the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and the People for the Eating of Tasty Animals. I believe both are options here!

But the actual PETA is the first abbreviation. Even though I don't eat meat personally, I don't preach about it. I made my own decision and I think it's important to let everyone else do so. PETA are too in your face about everything. While I agree with some of their views, I disagree with their methods.

I prefer a charity that actually helps animals rather than an organization that attacks people. I'm an animal lover; not a human hater.

PETA is the crazy extreme that I don't like. I'm all for saving the animals but PETA goes . . . over board.

@Dewheart: they don't kill most dogs in their shelters. They use euthanasia as a last resort. The only time they ever euthanize an animal is when they try rehabilitation and nothing works and no other shelter will take them. Unfortunately, then they have to euthanize them - otherwise the animal will live out it's life in a cage, isolated. They don't have the money, time, resources, or room to do that for every animal that can't be rehabilitated.

Oh, well, I love meat.

I agree with glelsey. I think PETA has some good points, but I don't like the way they go about promoting them. Their expectations of the world are unrealistic. And their claim that being vegetarian/vegan makes you sexier... it's just so stupid. It just goes to show that they would tell you anything just to stop you eating meat or buying leather, without giving you the whole story.

RSPCA is far more realistic in its expectations of society, and the welfare of animals is their priority, which, to me, is the most important thing for the time being.
