Sorry for the late update on this, sometimes I go into a hiatus with my writing. Hope 당신 like it.

New Arrival

Lina ended up getting off work early so Humphrey didn't have to hang around long.
“So you've never been to the city?” Lina shoved her hands into the pockets of her 코트 as she lead Humphrey downtown.
“There's a first time for everything.” Humphrey, trying to look at everything, nearly walked into a lamp post. Lina hid a laugh and came to a stop in front of a run down building that was once a clean apartment building. The roof was caved in on one side, windows were broken, the path leading to a door-less doorway was cracked and weeds pushed through the crumbling concrete.
“This isn't where we're staying, is it?” Humphrey looked up at the forgotten structure, moving aside when some shingles fell from the roof.
“Why? Is there something wrong?” Lina crossed her arms and gave Humphrey a stern look.
“No, no it's just...” He didn't know how to finish that sentence. From the corner of his eye he watched Lina shaking her head as she walked up to the deathtrap of a building.
“Did 당신 seriously think that I would offer 당신 a place to stay in a place where one wrong 옮기기 would get 당신 killed?” Lina laughed at Humphrey's confused face. She led him to an elevator, the one thing in the room that didn’t look like it would break if they touched it, and led him inside. They both stepped into a surprisingly clean interior as Lina pushed the button for the basement.

It was a quiet ride down, Humphrey could feel a slight drop in temperature as they descended into the earth. When the 'ding' indicated that they had reached their stop, Lina and Humphrey stepped out into a large room. The floor was solid concrete with a few rugs thrown over it in places, tables were scattered around with people seated at a few of them. Humphrey could see a hall in the far 벽 that led past a few doors, all of which were closed.
“What is this place?”
Lina took her 코트 off and placed it on a nearby chair. “This is where we live. It was originally the basement level to the above apartments but since then we've made it into a home.”
Two guys approached them. “Humphrey, I'd like to introduce 당신 to Liam and Issac.
“I'm Issac.” Humphrey shook the hand of a tall, broad-shouldered man with a gruff voice and turned to a shorter blond.
“Liam, nice to see some new blood around here.” Liam smiled and shook Humphrey's hand.

Humphrey spent the 다음 few hours getting shown around an introduced to many people whose names he would never remember.
“How many people are usually here at one time?” He leaned back in his chair, Isaac, Lina, and Liam around the 표, 테이블 with him.
“At most we've had 23 but that was last winter after a bad storm came through.” Issac explained to him.
“Do 당신 remember those two little ones? They were so cute!” Lina said to the others. While they reminisced Humphrey finally realized just how tired he really was. Lina noticed him trying to stifle a yawn.
“Tired? I'm sure we could find an empty 침대 somewhere.” She pushed her chair back when Liam spoke up.
“Robert switched rooms last week so I've got a 침대 당신 can crash in.” Liam stood and walked around the table. “I'll show 당신 to your sleeping quarters.”

The sleeping quarters turned out to be a long hallway with rooms along both sides. Some had doors still on their hinges while others had colourful swathes of fabric pulled over the frames. Humphrey could hear 음악 playing behind a few, people talking and laughing behind others and the occasional sound of sleep. Liam stopped in front of a doorway with a light blue material pulled across it. He moved it aside and gestured for Humphrey to go ahead in. Humphrey ducked into a brightly lit room, two beds on either side. One was a mess of blankets and other objects tucked between them, 사진 hung on the walls and clothes were flung everywhere. The other side of the room was neatly made up with books, and a bare bed.
“Robert hasn't cleared all of his stuff out yet, but you're welcome to the bed. I'll go grab some blankets and stuff.” Liam made his way back into the hall so Humphrey took this opportunity to look at some of the 사진 hung around the room. Most of them were people he had met earlier, others he didn't know. Their were pictures that looked like they had come from newspapers. Humphrey heard the door-fabric rustle and he turned to greet Liam with blankets piled in his arms.
“This seems to be all we have at the moment.” He put the blankets on the 침대 and moved to make it up.
“Feel free to stay as long as 당신 want, we'll let the leader know you're hear tomorrow since he's out right now.” Liam finished making the bed. “There 당신 go. I've got to head out for a bit but I'll see 당신 in the morning I guess.” Liam put his hands in his pockets before he ducked out the makeshift door leaving Humphrey alone.
